FAQ
1. At what age can my daughter cheer for the GridIron League?
GridIron League Cheer is for girls ages 5-12 (as of September 1st).
2. How are the GridIron cheerleading squads formed?
The GridIron League is a zoned league. The cheerleading squads will be made of girls that live in the same high school zone per Fort Bend ISD and LCISD — just as the GridIron Football teams are formed.
Freshman (Ages 5-6), Junior Varsity (Ages 7-9), Varsity (Ages 10-12)
A cheerleader may “cheer up” or “cheer down” one level only. This exception will be made strictly for siblings in order to allow for sisters to cheer for their brother’s team. For example, a 6-year-old cheerleader may “cheer up” for the junior varsity football team if her brother is on that team.
Note: The League reserves the right to make adjustments in squads to balance numbers where necessary.
3. How much is the cheerleading registration fee, and what does GridIron provide?
The registration fee is $300 per cheerleader. The GridIron League will provide each cheerleader with a uniform, which includes a shell, skirt, bloomers/briefs, hair bow, pompoms, and Camp T-shirt. In addition, each cheerleader will receive a “cheer bucket” to be decorated. Cheerleaders will provide their own shoes and socks.
4. Will there be a cheer camp, and is this included in the price of the registration?
Yes, there will be a cheer camp, and yes, this is included in the price of the registration.
Victory Sports (Home of the Vipers Cheerleaders) will host a camp for all GridIron cheerleaders. This will take place in mid-July. Victory Sports has an awesome facility and incredible coaches. They will be teaching the girls basic cheerleading (jumps, stunts, etc.), cheers and a dance. We are very excited to work with Victory Sports — this will definitely be a great experience. Click here for more GridIron Cheer Camp information, and check out the Victory Sports website - www.victoryvipers.com.
During the regular season, squads will have a total of three “activities” per week. Activities include practice and games.
6. Will the squads participate in cheerleading competitions?
At this time, the squads will only cheer recreationally for games. Competitions may be added in the future.
7. I am interested in volunteering to help with cheerleading. What should I do?
Please click here to contact us. Cheerleading coaches will be subject to a background check.
8. What is the Refund Policy?
Full refund will be given, less a processing fee, up until uniforms have been ordered. After uniforms have been ordered, the cost of the uniform will be deducted from the refund.
